    ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE REGULATION

    • June 2017 – Dacha – 1740 14th ST NW – ANC1B voted to protest the CT on the effect on real property values; the effect on peace, order, and quiet, including the noise and litter provisions; and the effect upon residential parking needs and vehicular and pedestrian safety pending approval of a SA.
    • May 2017 – The Smith –  ANC1B voted to support the application
    • May 2017 – Garden State – ANC1B voted to protest on the effect on real property values; the effect on peace, order, and quiet, including noise and litter provisions; and the effect upon residential parking needs and vehicular and pedestrian safety, and that ABRA question the fitness to hold a license.
    • May 2017 – Asefu’s Palace – ANC1B voted to protest on the effect on real property values; the effect on peace, order, and quiet, including noise and litter provisions; and the effect upon residential parking needs and vehicular and pedestrian safety, and over-saturation of establishments. Additionally, ANC 1B requests that ABRA evaluate the fitness of the applicant to hold a license.
    • April 2017 – Takorean – ANC1B voted to approve the SA with modifications to parking measure and no limits on operating hours
    • April 2017 – Duffy’s – ANC1B voted to protest the CT on the effect on real property values; the effect on peace, order, and quiet, including noise and litter provisions; and the effect upon residential parking needs and vehicular and pedestrian safety pending approval of a settlement agreement.

    • March 2017 – Franklin Hall – ANC1B voted to inform ABRA that the intent of the last call provision in this SA is to allow consumption and operation to continue for 30 minutes after sales cease.
    • March 2017 – Appio – ANC1B voted to approve the SA as written with a minor update to include license in the recitals.
    • March 2017– Amsterdam Lounge –  ANC1B voted to to approve the SA as written including updates for any noise issues for the outdoor patio space have been dealt with and date of SA is corrected to 2017.

    TRANSPORTATION REVIEW

    • June 2017 – 801 Restaurant and Bar – moved that the ANC1B voted to support 801 Restaurant to apply permeable paving to the margin between the sidewalk and roadway near the rear exit of the building in order to ease trash removal from the back of the property.
    • June 2017 – Alleypalooza – Broward Place – ANC1B voted to support repaving of Broward Place (situated between 12th Street and 12th Place, and between 12th Place and 13th Street) in brick, including a letter of recommendation from the transportation committee, based on outstanding repair requests and ongoing maintenance issues
    • June 2017 – Alleypalooza-9-1/2 St NW – ANC1B voted to support repaving of 9 1⁄2 Street NW alley in brick, including a letter of recommendation from the transportation committee, based on outstanding repair requests and ongoing maintenance issues.
    • June 2017 – Quarter + Glory – ANC1B voted to support the unenclosed sidewalk café application, conditioned on the applicant reducing a portion of the café space located on the north side of the entrance to alleviate a pedestrian bottleneck. Specifically, ANC 1B recommends to the Public Space Committee that the 7’ 9’’ by 4’ 6’’ space be eliminated, therefore leaving 6 tables with one ADA table included and a total of 12 seats.
    • May 2017 – Bike Lane Project – Support the recommendation of the construction of a protected bike lane on 9 Street NW Street extending from Sherman Ave to N Street NW.
    • May 2017 – Alley Repair and Repave – The ANC voted to ask for a report of all 311 service requests within the past 12 months related to alley repair, repave, cleaning within 1B. Further, the ANC would like a status and schedule for acting on the requests. The ANC requests that DDOT respond with the service request listing within one week and a status report on the requests within two weeks.
