🎭 Shakespeare in the Park RESCHEDULED: July 2

Join us on Wednesday, July 2 (note new date) at 7:00 p.m. in Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park for a free and family-friendly production of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors!

Bring a picnic blanket and all your friends! This 90-minute production of the Bard’s famous farce will be accompanied by a three-piece live band.

No registration is required, but you are encouraged to sign up here for alerts in case of changes or inclement weather.

At its June meeting, the Commission approved a budget to fund a production of The Comedy of Errors in Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park.

We are proud to partner with the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation, as well as Washington Parks & People, to bring this production to our own backyard.

Outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s plays (“Shakespeare in the Park”) are a longstanding tradition in many cities around the world. We are so excited to bring one to Washington… and hopefully ignite a new tradition of our own!

Can you volunteer to make this event a success?

The ANC is looking for several volunteers to help at the event, mostly to guide attendees through the park. We'll need you to arrive by 6:00 p.m. and commit to staying through clean-up, around 9:30 p.m. Click here to learn more and sign up.
