With fountain repairs under way on the lower plaza of the park, and a turf-replacement project about to start on the lawn of the upper plaza, Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park is undergoing quite a facelift. In response to community questions about timelines, public access while work is ongoing, and long-term maintenance commitments, the National Park Service has offered to meet neighbors for a town hall on Sunday, March 29, at 6:30 p.m. Superintendent Brian Joyner will join with ANC representatives, Friends of Meridian Hill, and the general community to discuss NPS's plans and engage in Q&A. The group will meet at the 15th & Euclid entrance of the park for a short site visit before heading into the Josephine Butler Parks Center (2437 15th Street) for the Q&A portion.
If you would like to submit a question in advance (the Q&A will be mostly moderated), or if you have a general question about the park improvement projects, please write to Commissioner Miguel Trindade Deramo (1B06) by email: 1B06@anc.dc.gov.
